Our Mission
At the heart of AutAid lies the understanding that caring for an autistic individual is not just physically demanding but emotionally exhaustive.
We aim to bridge this challenging journey with unwavering support for families and caregivers so that a better balance is achieved and a positive self-perpetuating ripple effect starts to exist for all who partake.
Who We Are
AutAid embodies a committed organisation that is continually growing. Its founded on the core conviction that individuals of all abilities warrant a supportive and inclusive space in which to flourish and realise their utmost potential.
It was initiated by speaking with many parents and carers with autistic children and adults who very obviously needed additional support to enhance the lives of both caregivers and those with autism. Our mission is to effect positive change in the lives of autistic individuals and their families.
We are in the process of establishing multiple centres across the country, with our inaugural four centres centre set to open before the end of 2024.
Supporting Families
We recognise that families of autistic individuals often face overwhelming challenges.
To alleviate some of the burdens and provide parents and caregivers with well-deserved respite, AutAid will offer a range of support services.
While your loved ones are engaged in our enriching activities, you can take a moment to recharge and focus on self-care.
Our Commitment
AutAid is driven by a deep commitment to fostering a more inclusive society where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
We believe that autism should never be a barrier to happiness, personal growth, or social engagement, either for the people with autism or the caregivers who look after them.
Our goal is to positively impact the lives of those we serve for the long-term.
A Word From The Founder...
I’m Patrick Quinn, the CEO and founder of AutAid. We are in the early phases of our journey, but we’re making great progress towards opening our first four drop-in day centre respite facilities.
My personal journey with autism started eleven years ago with the birth of my son, Patrick. He was diagnosed with severe autism when he was about three years old. Patrick doesn’t speak yet and communicates using an iPad, along with various sounds, actions, and subtle behaviours that his mother and I probably understand best. For those with autistic children, you will know what it means to become an expert in your child’s unique ways of communication…
